Once a teacher said to me, "Always be growing." Disrupting Thinking was definitely a professional development book that took me out of my comfort zone and forced me to grow as a teacher. Loved it!

I am a graduate of Radford University's College of Education and Human Development. I hold a degree in Secondary English Education.

NCTE

All standards and learning outcomes in my lessons are in line with the National Council of Teachers of English guidelines and standards.

Safe Zone

During my time at Radford University, I served as the Student Coordinator for the Safe Zone program, which seeks to create safe spaces for LGBTQ* students.

Volleyball

Coaching a charity Volleyball game was a highlight of my student teaching experience. I learned much about working collaboratively with other educators, how students can function effectively as a team, and good sportsmanship.

My name is Jordan Addison and I am Secondary Educator. I am entering my fourth year in the profession. My experience has taken me from my home state of Virginia to an extremely remote village in the Alaskan wilderness. There, I taught 9-12 Language Arts, Social Studies, and Career-Technical courses for two years. My most recent posting was 9-12 English as Second Language in Honolulu, Hawaii, working with a diverse population speaking 11 languages.
